Country Cabin

Area: 2070 SF

This informal cabin in the woods suffered from dark and poorly constructed thoughtless additions over the years. The need for handicap access precipitated the expansion and re-arrangement of the circulation and rooms starting with a new skylight over the refurbished stairway. The bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, living and entry areas radiate from this light filled central core. Horizontal clear pine planks finished with a specialized wax and stain system negate oxidation, offer brightness and coordinate with the antique pine paneling in adjacent areas to perpetuate the cozy wood cabin ambience. Custom Ash cabinetry, rustic stone slabs and a refined use of natural materials and calm palettes are employed throughout the project.
